Gansevoort brewery

by 1677 (house lot); brewery c.1660s-1670s – c.1805

NYSM's Gansevoort family page says the family plot on the east side of Market Street held both the brewery and the homes for over a hundred years, and Harmen's own bio puts his lot by 1677 on the east side of Market Street at Maiden Lane. The two NYSM statements are reconciled: the brewery was on the same Market St. plot, at its river (back) end. On the 1892 Sanborn map Stanwix Hall (built 1832 by Peter Gansevoort) fills the SE corner of Broadway and Maiden Lane. The pin goes there, in the middle of the Stanwix Hall block. Which corner of Maiden Lane (SE vs. NE) the lot was on is an inference from the Stanwix Hall link, not a sourced fact.
