Brewhouse inside Fort Orange

1647 (brewing licensed inside the fort) – 1670s (fort abandoned)

Point is the OpenStreetMap 'Fort Orange' archaeological-site node, which matches the area of Paul Huey's 1970-71 excavation (a georeferenced plan of that dig is on Map Warper, map 47601). The fort-side historical marker at Broadway and the foot of State St. says the fort lay to the southeast, by the river. Position is good to perhaps 50 m. Exactly where in the fort the brewhouse stood is unknown.
