Treasurer of the Fort Orange Brewing Co. and, with brewer Duncan McDonald, ran the brewery at 900–912 Broadway (the old Kirk site). In the 1880s it had a capacity of 30,000 bbl and made IPA, amber, cream and stock ales and porter.
