Ran the Arch Street brewery from 1797, left for the country, returned in 1808 as senior partner of Boyd & McCulloch. Swore in 1835 he had brewed ale in Albany for 31 years; employed Peter Ballantine for two years. Called 'the oldest Brewer, now living' in 1868.
